Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA seeks a Sr Physical Therapist (Inpatient, Per Diem) to provide skilled physical therapy under supervision and contribute to clinical education and program development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Physical Therapist.

• Must hold California Physical Therapist license at hire and National Provider Identifier.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under supervision as directed.
• Conducts in-service presentations and contributes to staff education.
• Acts as a clinical instructor and mentors staff as needed.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees.
• Provides consultation to staff and supports clinical competency development.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement and new care models.

Job Summary:

Provides physical therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Physical Therapists job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May act as a mentor for staff.
• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
• Identifies process Improvement opportunities.
• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• May be involved in the clinical competency of PTAs and Rehab Aides.
• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities
• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience
• Minimum of (2) years experience as a Physical Therapist.
