Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide patient-centered physical therapy services under the direction of the Director, Assistant Director, or Clinical Supervisor. The role includes departmental in-services, mentoring staff, and contributing to clinical practice improvements.

Requirements include a CA PT license, NPI, and BLS, with a minimum of two years of PT experience and graduation from an accredited PT program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree and PT certification or foreign equivalent.
• California Physical Therapist License required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services to patients under supervision.
• Possesses department in-service presentations as requested by management.
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff and may mentor for staff.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and participates in performance improvement projects.
• Contributes to development and implementation of new clinical practice models for care delivery.
• Monitors the work of contract therapists and patient treatment in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).


• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.


• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.


• Provides consultation to staff.


• May act as a mentor for staff.


• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.


• Identifies process Improvement opportunities.


• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.


• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.


• May be involved in the clinical competency of PTAs and Rehab Aides.


• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities


• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of (2) years experience as a Physical Therapist.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelor or Master or Doctoral degree with certification in physical therapy or foreign trained equivalent.

License, Certification, Registration

• Physical Therapist License (California) required at hire


• National Provider Identifier required at hire


• Basic Life Support
