Job Details

The Senior Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their services. The PT is a key healthcare provider committed to helping patients achieve their highest level of function. The Senior Therapist will uphold the mission, vision, and values of Jefferson Health and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and care.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  1. Interacts professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, reflecting Jefferson's values.
  2. Provides comprehensive therapy evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning for a full patient caseload across acute care, skilled facilities, rehab, and outpatient settings.
  3. Participates in student education, including ICE, OT Level I, or full-time students.
  4. Reviews and applies current literature to clinical practice.
  5. Engages in education and teaching activities appropriate for a novice clinician.
  6. Designs and implements treatment programs to facilitate patient recovery and rehabilitation.
  7. Uses appropriate tools and techniques to deliver safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
  8. Documents all patient interactions, including treatments, progress notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
  9. Assists in staff orientation, mentorship, and competency assessments for new or rotating staff.
  10. Supports program development and performance improvement initiatives with managerial approval.
  11. Completes ongoing professional development activities.
  12. Supports departmental operations and performs additional duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of current clinical practice.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid state license in Physical Therapy.

CPR certification (American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider, BLS).
