Sr. Physical Therapist - Outpatient Dept hours Mondays 730a-4p, Tues & Thurs 10a-7p, Weds 930-5:30p, Fri 730a- 330p

Summary

Physical Therapists provide services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain. Clinical responsibilities may include treatment of pediatric and/or adults and mature adults. May treat in any of these locations: in-patient, out-patient and pediatrics.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical therapy evaluations on patients with complex diagnoses.
• Performs physical therapy treatment planning and implementation for complex patients. Utilizes appropriate interventions, procedures & equipment as defined by specialty area.
• Provides patient/family education and training.
• Provides peer reviews and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Documentation is completed based on department guidelines.
• Initiates discharge planning.
• Continuing education: attends 20 hours of general continuing education per year, OR matriculates in advanced Masters program, provides 10 hours of inservice education to staff per year.
• Provides full time clinical experience to student and community education lectures.
• Acts as mentor to lower level staff and new staff.
• Assists with annual competency training and verification.
• Assists with scheduling patients and achieving appropriate staffing.
• Provides coverage in supervisor's absence as requested.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

Other Information

Required: Must have experience working with patients with neurological conditions.

Minimum Experience: three years

Desired: Specialty certification working toward an advanced degree. Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) certification and CPR certification.

Working Conditions

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
