Job summary

Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center seeks a Senior Pharmacy Technician to support the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge with billing, reporting, and inventory control. This role includes supervising other technicians and clerks and ensuring compliance with Hawaii regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a pharmacy technical program or on-the-job training/experience in a pharmacy.
• Registration with HI State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (must obtain within 90 days if not already).
• Minimum five years' experience as a pharmacy technician (preferred).
• Must attend educational/training sessions related to duties.
• Three years' experience in third party billing and collection (preferred).
• Three years' experience in purchasing and inventory control programs (preferred).
• Minimum five years' experience as a pharmacy technician in Hawaii (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge with third party billing functions.
• Contribute to monthly sales reporting and inventory control programs.
• Supervise other pharmacy technician and clerk staff.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Pharmacy technician program completed

HI State Board of Pharmacy registration

5+ years of pharmacy technician experience (preferred)

Experience with third party billing & collections (preferred)

Experience in purchasing and inventory control (preferred)

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

In addition to performing all functions and duties described under the Pharmacy Technician job description, the Senior Pharmacy Technician position will assist the Director of Pharmacy and the Pharmacist in Charge in all third party billing functions, monthly sales reporting, inventory control programs and the supervision of the other pharmacy technician/clerk staff.

Education/Experience:

• 1. High school diploma or equivalent education required
• 2. Completion of pharmacy technical program or on the job education/pharmacy work experiences required
• 3. Registration with HI State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician required; if not had at time of hire will be required to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• 4. A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a pharmacy technician preferred
• 5. Must attend educational/training sessions related to performing above duties
• 6. Three years' experience in third party pharmacy billing and collection preferred
• 7. Three years' experience in purchasing and inventory control Programs preferred
• 8. A minimum of five years' experience as a pharmacy technician in the State of Hawaii preferred
