SUMMARY:The Software Engineer IV performs complex problem resolution analysis and corrections, develops new software based on approved design documents, and corrects system problems. Responsible for more junior engineers following best practices.You must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.JOB DUTIESImpacts multiple areas of development, functions, or processes and influences policies and guidelines in their area.Works with multiple applications; will lead projects and be accountable for the successful technical implementation of business software applications.Manages critical projects, customer engagements or business processes and advises junior team members.Develops complex software applications based on approved design.Develops innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis that improves business performance and contributes to corporate goals and strategic intent.Corrects system problems as directed by manager.Ensures projects are delivered on time and according to specifications.Works as part of a team for most projects.Mentors junior developers with code reviews, design reviews and unit test plan reviews.Represents IT as the principal technical contact and often performs technical project leadership roles.Identifies opportunities for process and procedure enhancements and communicates them to other departments/areas to drive efficiency and customer service levels.Forecasts, models and utilizes advanced analytical tools.Offers proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and applications, and exerts significant latitude in determining the objectives of an assignment.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCETypically requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of related experience; or equivalent combination. 5+ years of PeopleSoft Technical/Development experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESApplies a comprehensive knowledge of application programming and design to analyze and isolate issues.Strong leadership skills.Experienced understanding and application of client/server network.Applies knowledge to analyze and develop solutions to highly complex problems.Advanced understanding of how technology decisions relate to business needs.Typically requires experience with structured application development and change control methodologies.Thorough understanding of key business drivers and ability to communicate and translate those needs to technical solutions.Typically requires experience with object oriented analysis and design.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position may require working the evening shift (5pm to 2am) and will vary based on certain times of the year to support a new client.LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: None required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No Supervisory ResponsibilityBUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: NoCOMPANY INFORMATION:Motion Industries offers an excellent benefits package which includes options for healthcare coverage, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, vacation, sick, and holiday pay.Not the right fit?
