Job Title: Sr. Payroll Specialist
Job Duration: 6+ Months
Location: 100% Remote
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for payroll processing (regular cycle, off-cycle, and regulatory requirements) in the US
- Perform intake and timely resolution of payroll questions and service requests in Jira within SLA.
- Work with the payroll vendor, as needed, on processing and issue remediation.
- Compile data from various sources and validate accuracy, completeness and compliance. Perform audits of employee demographic data between payroll system and Workday.
- Conduct root cause analysts to identify and resolve issues.
- Verify wage calculations, deductions, and other remuneration for errors or inconsistencies.
- Maintain clean process documentation, such as checklists and runbooks.
- Collaborate with the People Ops Team and other cross functional teams to process employee changes in payroll and cross-check data for accuracy.
- Learn and grasp new payroll and financial concepts quickly.
- Communicate effectively with staff at various levels.
- Pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy in all payroll-related tasks.
- Utilize Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs for data management and reporting.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of payroll-related.
- Experience with Workday and UKG (or similar systems), preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Critical thinking skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred.
