  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliations, taxes, and compliance.
  • SOX controls and payroll audit experience.
  • Excellent Excel and reporting skills.
  • English required.

Job description

Sr. Payroll Analyst (HR Operations) — Bridgewater, NJ

Role Overview: The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for accurate and timely administration and processing of the U.S. biweekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees in Workday. Manages day-to-day payroll activities including payroll processing, time and absence administration, payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process U.S. biweekly payroll and related off-cycle payments (bonuses, RSU vesting, equity, benefits, deductions, garnishments, etc.).
  • Review and process employee changes (hires, rehires, terminations, compensation changes, leaves of absence).
  • Run payroll calculations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage Workday Time and Absence activities (timecard exceptions, missing punches, overtime, shift differentials, leave impacts).
  • Resolve payroll issues with managers, HRBPs, and Benefits; manage the payroll inbox.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and prepare payroll/accounting/benefits/headcount reports.
  • Execute and maintain SOX controls; support internal/external payroll audits.
  • Support federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements (multistate taxation and tax notices).
  • Support year-end activities, including W-2 preparation, review, and distribution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3–5 years U.S. payroll experience; preferably complex/global.
  • 3–5 years hands-on Workday Payroll (including Workday Time & Absence).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliations, taxes, deductions, compliance.
  • SOX controls and payroll audit experience.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving/communication; high attention to detail; confidential information handling.
  • Strong Excel and reporting.
  • English.
Preferred:
  • RSU/equity payroll experience.

Benefits (if eligible): Medical/dental/vision; 401(k) match; 8 weeks paid parental leave after 3 months; paid time off including vacation, personal, sick, floating holidays, and 11 company holidays; performance-based bonus and/or equity; base pay range $78,251–$102,705.
