Responsibilities

The Senior Patient Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and performs the following duties:

• Bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs
• Transports patients and patient‑related materials safely, promptly, and professionally
• Greets and orients patients to the patient care area
• Performs meal service and feeding assistance functions
• Provides additional select care to patients
• Collaborates with other team members to perform additional services as directed

Qualifications

• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward problem‑solving
• High School diploma or GED required
• Ability to use a computer for documentation and work‑related purposes
• Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills
• Accountable for own actions and demonstrates responsibility and responsiveness
• Provides service in a courteous, willing manner
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and multi‑task
• Able to take direction well and be self‑directed and motivated
• Ability to maintain emotional control while dealing with patients, visitors, situations, and care team members

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to lift
• Must be available for one week of full‑time training
• Three (3) months of clinical experience or CNA license required, or currently enrolled in nursing school
