Job summary

Zing Recruiting partners with an innovative consumer products organization seeking a Senior Product Design & Packaging Engineer to lead packaging and device development for a growing home fragrance and consumer products portfolio.

The role collaborates with executive leadership to design, test, and commercialize packaging and product systems from concept through launch, with opportunities across air care, home fragrance systems, humidifiers, and other devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Packaging Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in packaging engineering, product design engineering, or related fields.
• Experience designing and developing consumer products or devices from concept through launch.
• Strong CAD and SolidWorks experience.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies.
• Knowledge of packaging testing standards such as ASTM and ISO.
• Experience working in regulated environments.
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging and device development projects from concept through commercialization.
• Design, prototype, test, and validate new packaging and product solutions.
• Evaluate and improve existing packaging and product designs.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Creative, and Supply Chain teams.
• Manage packaging and device testing, validation, and performance analysis.
• Partner with suppliers and vendors to develop scalable packaging solutions.
• Conduct packaging line trials and product performance testing.
• Identify and implement cost savings related to materials, logistics, and manufacturing efficiencies.
• Support new product launches and commercialization efforts.
• Ensure packaging and product solutions meet quality, safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Drive innovation through new technologies, materials, and design approaches.

Zing Recruiting is partnering with an innovative consumer products organization seeking a Senior Product Design & Packaging Engineer to support the continued growth of a rapidly expanding home fragrance and consumer products portfolio. This is a highly visible opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, including the Director of New Product Development and COO, while helping bring new consumer products from concept through commercialization. The company is expanding beyond its legacy air care products and investing heavily in new product categories including home fragrance systems, humidifiers, and other consumer devices.

Position Overview

The Senior Product Design & Packaging Engineer will lead packaging and device development initiatives for a growing portfolio of consumer products. This individual will play a key role in designing, testing, and commercializing packaging and product systems while collaborating across product development, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and executive leadership teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of packaging engineering expertise, product design experience, and hands-on experience working with consumer devices and fluid delivery systems.
