This role will lead in budget and cost management for the technical team and support the Mars Supply Excellence Maintenance Cost initiatives. The Sr. OVS Technician will act as a liaison between the site and commercial to ensure timely and accurate purchasing processes and provide training and support to site purchasers.

Job Description:

The purpose of the Sr. OVS (Outside Vendor Services)Technician role is to ensure the successful scoping, contracting, delivery, and payment processing of all outside vendor services at the plant. This role will lead in budget and cost management for the technical team and support the Mars Supply Excellence Maintenance Cost initiatives. The Sr. OVS Technician will act as a liaison between the site and commercial to ensure timely and accurate purchasing processes and provide training and support to site purchasers.

Shift: (1st Shift) Monday-Friday

This role has the potential need to flex hours and potentially take escalations during off-hours /weekends.

What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred.

A successful candidate should have:

  • 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment, i.e. factory operations, maintenance, procurement or technical.
  • Candidate must be capable of relating concepts and leading transformation from within the current culture of the site.
  • Candidate must possess (and demonstrate through prior experience) solid problem-solving skills, analytical thinking proficiency, the ability to multitask, and excellent written communication skills.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Implement standardized services in accordance with the scope(s) of work within the Mars, Incorporated Commercial agreements, FSSP provider agreement, Corporate Safety and Security Standards, Mars Operating System, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Partner with Commercial and Finance to design and scope the parameters of a Facilities Services Provider agreement, ensuring fitness for purpose and delivering value to the Supply organization as well as Mars, Inc.
  • Influence the site leadership team to align with regional and global OVS strategies.
  • Partner with the FSSP provider to ensure compliance with corporate agreements.
  • Provide technical guidance, expertise, and support to ensure site concerns are properly addressed in the design and implementation of standardized services.
  • Deliver regular communication of status and effectiveness of OVS services to site leadership.
  • Be accountable for on-site third-party resources as needed when contracted directly by Mars, Inc., and in partnership with a Facilities Services provider when appropriate
  • Implement and conduct associate communications as needed to ensure site consistency and adherence to all agreements, including, but not limited to, Mars Safety regulations, contractor work rules, regulatory requirements, emergency response, asset conservation, and corporate-required “permit to work” processes.
  • Partner with SES organization to ensure facilities services comply with all regulations and deliver/maintain the standards established or Mars Inc.
  • Create and implement standardized best practices in response to regional approaches, governmental regulations, site need,s and industrial standards. Influence associates at all levels to adopt and comply with the standardized processes
  • Engage in Mars site OVS resources community and transfer the best practices of processes and procedures
  • Participate in the site Incident Investigation for any incident involving an employee contracted under the FSSP agreement to identify the root cause of the incident and recommend solutions to reduce or eliminate future occurrences. This requires dealing with sensitive issues and potential disciplinary actions of contractors and/ or associates involved in the incident
  • Analyze incident trends and ensure follow-up and correction
  • Evaluate and monitor contract adherence to ensure effective risk management of the supply base
  • Manage and/or support projects as needed to drive value for the business.

  • Ability to manage multiple jobs/tasks while maintaining priority and focus.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
