Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services under supervision in our Oakland, California facilities. The role emphasizes clinical instruction, staff mentorship, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited OT degree, California OT license, and at least two years of experience, with the ability to contribute to new clinical practice models and staff development.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as an occupational therapist.
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum with a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree with certification in occupational therapy or foreign trained equivalent.
• California Occupational Therapist License required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides occupational therapy services under the direction of the Director/Assistant Director or designee.
• Provides department in-service presentations as requested by management.
• Serves as a clinical instructor and can assist in orientation and training of employees.
• Provides consultation to staff and may mentor staff.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and can contribute to new clinical practice models.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• Monitors the work of contract therapists and patient treatment at Kaiser facilities.

Job Summary:

Provides occupational therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Occupational Therapists job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May act as a mentor for staff.
• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
• Identifies process Improvement opportunities.
• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• May be involved in the clinical competency of COTAs and Rehab Aides.
• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as an occupational therapist required.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum with a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree with certification in occupational therapy or foreign trained equivalent

License, Certification, Registration

• Occupational Therapist License (California) required at hire

• National Provider Identifier required at hire
