Apex Systems is looking for a Senior Engineer who will lead and participate in multiple team environments and to provide independent efforts to all aspects of system integration including design, needs analysis, design review, testing, implementation, and validation. As a highly technical and hands-on position, the Sr Engineer will be responsible for systems in support of Lumen’s Government and commercial managed security services platforms addressing .gov and critical infrastructure protection missions.

The Lead Engineer position will require both technical expertise and project management competency.

Job Title: NOC Engineer

Location: Alexandria, VA

Shift: Fully Onsite (M-F, 6 AM to 12pm)

Clearance: TS/SCI Required

Pay Rate: $150k

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide necessary coordination, support and technical assistance to the Customer NOC to enable situational awareness of all customer services within Lumen.
• The engineer will serve as the interface between Lumen and Government POC regarding planned and unplanned maintenance events, incident response by identifying which Lumen transport circuits are impacted by an event.
• Attend daily Government meetings and provide information on maintenance activities and impact on the Government Network
• Provide NOC support to apply Lumen transport expertise to ensure trouble ticket accuracy.
• Develop strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance teamwork, trust and transparency.
• Experience in analyzing problems to determine root cause and implementation of corrective actions is required.
• Must be able to provide accurate written and verbal communication.
• Ability to provide the proactive status of assigned work, ability to estimate the level of effort for future work and accomplish tasks with minimal guidance.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills with the ability to work in collaborative environment.

• TS/SCI Required
• Bachelors Degree Preferred
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong Communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in Selenium
• Proficiency in Infranera and CIANA
