Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support NIWC Pacific CTB network environments in San Diego. You will install, upgrade, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, ensure STIG compliance, and monitor performance with inMON Traffic Sentinel and Zabbix.

Cloud connectivity to AWS/Azure and NAC/Zero Trust initiatives are key focus areas. Required: Active Secret Clearance, 10+ years in network engineering, Master’s in CS/IT, DoD certifications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of network engineering experience with enterprise routing, switching, firewall, and security technologies.
• Active DoD/US government clearance or ability to acquire one.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and day-to-day operational support for CTB network environments.
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade network hardware, software, and firmware.
• Ensure devices comply with STIGs and cybersecurity standards.
• Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network performance at physical and IP levels.
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud connectivity (AWS/Azure).
• Manage IP space, VLANs, RACI/VPCs, and gateways.
• Build and test network environments and document results.
• Coordinate vendor support and regression testing.
