Overall Purpose:

The Sr. Network Security Engineer designs, deploys, and manages network security infrastructure, focusing on proxy, data loss prevention (DLP) solutions, IDS/IPS, and collaborating with audit and compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions:

1. Influences the design, implementation, and management of enterprise proxy and DLP solutions.
2. Consults with governance, audit, and compliance teams to meet regulatory and policy requirements.
3. Develops or responds to requirements for new security tools.
4. Develops, implements, and executes control tests to validate security measures.
5. Monitors and maintains network security tools, resolving issues proactively.
6. Ensures tools run secure and stable code.
7. Maintains detailed technical documentation.
8. Contributes to security policies and procedures.
9. Acts as primary/secondary on-call in rotation for 24x7 response.
10. Mentors team members on business practices and technology.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or 2-year degree in related fields.
2. At least 7 years of IT experience, including 5 years in security.
3. Experience with vendor tools like Netskope, Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Microsoft.
4. Proficient in scripting languages such as bash, PowerShell, Python.
5. Strong understanding of networking concepts and security architectures.
6. Experience with encryption, proxies, multi-factor authentication, log management, vulnerability management.
7. Experience in financial institutions and regulatory standards like PCI DSS, NYDFS, or SOX.
8. Ability to work independently and in teams; strong interpersonal skills.
9. Analytical skills for technical issue resolution.
10. Familiarity with Zero Trust and SASE frameworks.
11. Background and drug testing clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in bash/PowerShell scripting at level 3.
2. Extensive experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
3. Certifications such as CISSP, PCNSE, SC-200, NCCSA.
4. Unix/Windows admin experience (6-9 years).
5. Knowledge of standards like PCI DSS, NIST, ISO 27001, NYDFS.

Physical Requirements:

Standard office environment; sedentary work, extensive computer use. Occasional standing, walking, reaching. Ability to lift 10 pounds. Good visual acuity and communication skills. Must perform essential functions with or without accommodations.

Compensation & Benefits:

In Phoenix, AZ/Chicago, IL: $145,000 - $180,000/year

In New York, NY/San Francisco, CA: $160,000 - $200,000/year
