Sr. Network/security Datapath/infrastructure Software Engineer

Build high-performance packet processing software for secure enterprise networks

Job Summary

This Sr Network/Security Datapath/Infrastructure Software Engineer will be at the forefront of architecture, design and implementation of Versa's high-performance forwarding software. You will be part of a highly-experienced engineering team developing high-performance packet and security service processing capabilities on new compute platforms. You will develop best practices for multi-core architecture systems and network/security interfaces. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and have 5-10 years of hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for real-time network applications on a multi-core architecture.
• Design, develop and maintain NextGen Packet Forwarding and security features for SDWAN/SASE/SSE platforms.
• Collaborate with Development, System Test, PLM, and TAC teams.
• Address challenging problems and propose platform optimization ideas.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies.
• Expertise with routing and switching, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), branch and DataCenter Architectures.
• Hands-on experience with packet processing pipelines.
• Experience with Remote Access VPN solutions, IPSEC, PKI & SSL is a plus.
• Experience with Ethernet, QAT, LTE, Wifi, SRIOV, virtio, vmxnet3, OVS interfaces is a plus.
• Preferable to have prior experience with DPDK and multicore systems.
• Thorough understanding of performance benchmarks and ability to analyze them.
• Strong Linux Kernel development experience is a plus.
• Prior experience building a scalable, high-performance system is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot critical customer issues promptly.
• Excellent C/C++ programming skills.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation: $200,000 – $310,000 USD per year in California, Washington, or New York City at commencement of employment. Pay within this range is based on skill, experience, education, certifications, and business needs.
