Job summary

Abile Group is seeking a Sr Network Engineer to support an Intelligence Community client on a 10-year contract. The role covers user facing and data center IT services across multiple networks and security domains, from design to sustainment. Candidates should have CCNP/JNCIP or similar and strong TCP/IP, OSPF/BGP, and data center technologies.

This position requires TS/SCI clearance with CI poly eligibility and a Bachelor's degree in a technical field. On-site work in the Virginia area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience preferred, with focus on data center networking.
• CCNP, F5-CTS or JNCIP certifications; CCIE/F5-CSE/JNCIE preferred.
• SME level understanding of dynamic routing protocols (OSPF/BGP).
• Experience with DC technologies and familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco vPC, ACI, F5 load balancing.

• Collaborates with system engineers to ensure solutions meet goals and timelines.
• Evaluates new network technologies and makes integration recommendations.

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Sr Network Engineer on a 10 year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. All the personnel on the team will work together to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment and disposal of user facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

• Coordinates with project staff for solution development and deployment while managing project aspects within applicable technical area of responsibility.
• Collaborates with system engineers across teams and disciplines to ensure solutions meet established technical goals and are deployed within established timelines.
• Evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to stakeholders regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.
• Develops and implements methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks.
• Diagnoses hardware and software problems and replace defective components.
• Supports operations and maintains activities and administer networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
• Ensures systems are integrated with existing performance and availability management framework.
• Schedules and coordinates systems changes within the established change management framework.
• Evaluates new system hardware and software to ensure optimal integration with existing hardware and compliance with customer standards.
• Prepares technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the network.
• Performs a full range of upgrades in accordance with existing network architecture.
• Reviews user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirements.
• Performs long term O&M activities to include tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Interfaces with external tier 4 support staff and vendor support as required for problem resolution.
• Utilizes complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
• Prepares troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.
• Develops and documents standard operating procedures (SOP) for use by technical support staff.
• Provides fault management for the network and supports performance management functions.

Clearance Required TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Degree and Years of Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

• 10 years of experience preferred with several years focusing specifically on data center networking and technologies.

Required Certifications

• Professional or expert level certifications (at a minimum CCNP, F5-CTS or JNCIP) - CCIE/F5-CSE/JNCIE preferred.

Required Skills

• SME level understanding and experience with dynamic routing protocols to include OSPF and BGP.
• SME level understanding of data center technologies. Familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco vPC, ACI, F5 load balancing and RSTP is a plus.
• Experience with Cisco, F5, Juniper and Palo Alto hardware and operating systems is a plus.
• Understanding and experience analyzing TCP/UDP application flow using external network analyzers along with built-in network switch/router diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with DoW STIGs and SD-WAN.
• Experience with MS Visio and documenting network architectures and application flows.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Effective at communicating technical ideas through presentations, documentation, meetings.
• Learn and evaluate new technologies.
• The candidate will be responsible for managing their own projects from start to finish so initiative, time management, and attention to detail are critical traits and skills.
