Sr. Network Administrator/Engineer San Marcos, TX

Responsibilities:

1. Design, install, and configure campus network switches, routers, wireless access points, and related equipment.
2. Work on trouble tickets to resolve end-user network problems.
3. Allocate and assign campus-wide network IP address space.
4. Perform backup and recovery of campus network infrastructure configurations.
5. Administer network infrastructure in a 24/7 environment, including software and firmware updates, security patches.
6. Produce documentation for network designs, processes, configurations, and diagrams.
7. Automate network tasks using management tools and scripting.
8. Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues, submitting support tickets as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in network administration.
2. Experience with BGP Routing Protocol and MPLS Routing.
3. Experience with network security devices such as Firewalls and IPS.
4. Experience with network automation and scripting.
5. Knowledge of wireless networking protocols and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience installing, testing, and maintaining physical network cabling (copper, fiber optic).
2. Experience supporting IT systems in a Higher Education environment.
3. Experience with CATV systems and cabling.
4. Experience with PBX telephone systems.
5. Relevant network certifications.
