Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a safe and experienced level without direct supervision. Orient, train, and provide technical and administrative guidance to assigned personnel and department. Unified by the core purpose of creating a healthier community one person at a time, the members of the Division of Patient Care Services commit themselves to sustaining a culture focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Perform MRI procedures using prescribed techniques. Critique and rescans images where necessary. Perform various magnetic resonance imaging examinations to evaluate disorders of the head and neck, cardiovascular system, genitourinary, etc., utilizing knowledge of pathology and cross-sectional anatomy in the sagittal, axial, and coronal planes.
Hold technologists accountable for assigned duties; recommend staffing requirements based on productivity monitoring system, departmental statistics, and other supervisory tools. Orient and train staff in job duties and departmental policies and procedures. Provide technical guidance regarding ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, etc. Evaluate staff work performance in conjunction with the manager and consult concerning disciplinary issues.
Take initiative in problem solving and make timely, productive decisions. Use MRI injector for vascular studies following proper procedures. Administer contrast medium for various MRI exams by successfully gaining intravenous access. Meet with staff regularly.
Must be able to work with others in the unit, assist with patient scheduling, follow-up, and act as a liaison with referring physicians. Perform exam completion, screening/consent, and paper scanning in a timely manner.
