Job summary

Texana Bank Mortgage is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator Team Lead to originate residential mortgage loans and support the loan production efforts within the Keller, TX branch.

The role includes leading other Mortgage Loan Originators, may receive overrides on qualified loans, and requires work away from the employer's location as defined by FLSA criteria.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework or degree is preferred.
• Valid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulations.
• Experience in mortgage lending or financial services is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and regulations.
• Conduct borrower interviews to gather financial information and assess eligibility.

Position Summary

The Mortgage Loan Originator Team Lead is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans and supporting the loan production efforts within the branch. While the role does not include direct supervisory responsibility, the Team Lead may receive overrides on qualified loans originated by other Mortgage Loan Originators. This position must meet the Outside Sales Exemption criteria as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state regulations, meaning a significant portion of the employee’s time is spent conducting sales activities away from the employer’s place of business.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and lending regulations
• Conduct borrower interviews to gather required financial information and assess eligibility
• Evaluate applicant financial documents to determine appropriate loan programs
• Educate clients on available loan products, terms, and procedures
• Submit complete loan applications to the processing team for approval and underwriting
• Maintain accurate records in the loan origination system
• Ensure timely follow-up with clients, processors, and underwriters
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth loan closings
• Meet established productivity and quality goalsMaintain knowledge of current lending policies, compliance standards, and industry trends

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferred
• Valid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulations
• Previous experience in mortgage lending or financial services preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office tool
