Job summary

Bergey's Truck Center—Pennsauken is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to operate an on-road service truck and assist customers with warranties, preventive maintenance, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. This Monday–Friday role requires travel to customer facilities or distribution centers to deliver high-quality mobile service.

Starting pay is $35.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Located at Bergey's Truck Center-Pennsauken, NJ.

Qualifications

• 3+ years mechanical repair experience (diesel, automotive, or related field).
• Clean driving record and current DOT Medical Card.
• Willingness to travel to customer facilities and possess hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM services, DOT inspections, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair truck systems: electrical, wiring, cooling, engines, transmissions, air brakes.
• Document repair info and communicate with customers and teams.
• Upload RO data using company iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Maintain service truck and complete pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Work independently and manage schedule to meet Standard Repair Times.

We are looking for a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to operate an on-road service truck (bay on wheels) and assist customers with warranties, preventive maintenance, and repair services on medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. This is a Monday-Friday opportunity. This role requires traveling to customer facilities or distribution centers to deliver high-quality mobile service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles in a field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems, including:
• Electrical, wiring, and cooling systems
• Starters, alternators, fan clutches, and engine electronics
• Air conditioning systems
• Diesel and gas engines, transmissions (manual/automatic), clutches, differentials
• Hydraulic and steering systems, air brake systems
• Collect and document repair information; communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Upload pictures, parts usage, and repair findings into Repair Orders (“RO”) using a company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application.
• Complete all DOT and company documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain and operate a company-issued service truck, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Work independently, managing your own schedule and productivity while meeting Standard Repair Times.
• Use logic and reasoning to troubleshoot, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective solutions.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical repair experience 3+ years (diesel, automotive, or related field).
• Willingness to learn about our products and systems.
• Self-motivated with strong initiative.
• Clean driving record and current DOT Medical Card.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the job.
• Basic understanding of:
• Electrical systems and wiring
• Air conditioning systems
• Engines (gas and diesel)
• Air brake systems
• Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
