Fleet Services is currently hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician.

The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Diesel Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on jobsites by customers and Technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer's behalf. A successful Sr Mobile Diesel Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics.

DUTIES:

1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
2. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
3. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
4. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
5. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly.
6. Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
7. Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service trucks, performing periodic reconciliation.
8. Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
9. Work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations.
10. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work activities, and allocate time effectively.
11. Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
12. Document work according to company standards, upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (“RO”) using company-issued iOS devices and proprietary TRAIT application.
13. Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
14. Work independently and manage your daily schedule.
15. Maintain high productivity and work within or close to Standard Repair Times.
16. Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary for repairs.
17. Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for approvals, purchase orders, and notes.
18. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
19. Maintain company-issued service truck, conduct safety checks, and daily pre-/post-trip inspections.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field. Alternatively, any level degree/certification beyond HS with 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience in a related field.
2. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
3. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
4. Obtain 608/609 certification within 18 months.
5. Must pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
6. Current DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining can be submitted in lieu of a physical; if less, physical required.
7. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
8. Valid driver’s license, able to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File (DQF), and eligible to drive per DOT requirements.
