Job summary

Realtor.com is seeking a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering to lead and influence initiatives across the full software lifecycle from Austin, TX.

You will shape a strategic technology roadmap, align squads with product goals, and drive architectural improvements across frontend and backend systems. You will mentor a high-performing team, partner with product and design leadership, and own reliability, performance, and long-term enablers for scale.

The Role:

We are looking for a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering to join our team. As a technical influencer at Realtor.com®, you will contribute across all stages of the software development lifecycle and system health under your remit. Your leadership and collaboration skills will drive impactful, cross-organization initiatives, delivering industry-leading solutions. You’ll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative systems that empower individuals and landlords in their renting journey. • Convert product strategy into clear, actionable technology strategy and plans for your team

  What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading software engineering teams in a technology company, 8+ years related experience
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • A strong results and outcome-driven focus, understanding the value derived from rapidly shipping code and learning/iterating on the results
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor engineers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
  • Strong expertise in modern web architectures (e.g., React), backend development (e.g., Python), relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with high-level design and familiarity with best practices and design patterns
  • Strong empathy for our customers and a passion for exceeding their expectations, always!
