Job Overview

The Sr. Manager, Performance provides strategic leadership for enterprise and workforce performance initiatives that enable DePuy Synthes to drive accountability, capability, and results. This role leads the design, execution, and continuous improvement of performance management frameworks, processes, and insights, partnering closely with HR and business leaders. The position has a broad enterprise impact, helping translate strategy into measurable outcomes while supporting a high‑performance culture within a global MedTech organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and evolve talent assessment and performance management strategy and processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enterprise standards.
  • Oversee annual performance cycles, goal‑setting frameworks, calibration activities, and performance outcomes.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to embed performance expectations, accountability, and development planning.
  • Analyze performance data, trends, and insights to inform leadership decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management and communications related to performance programs and enhancements.
  • Ensure performance processes are fair, consistent, and compliant with internal policies and governance requirements.
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members supporting performance programs and analytics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen performance culture and employee experience.
Where Required To Be Managed Locally
  • Document handling: Print, stamp/seal, mail/ship, distribute, and route documents for wet signatures.
  • Records management: Store/archive/retrieve HR documents; fulfill requests; coordinate offsite storage; scan and name for Veeva.
  • Compliance/admin: Upload/submit filings; print and hand-deliver to agencies; support audits and onsite audit coordination.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree, MBA, or advanced degree preferred.
Required

Experience and Skills:

  • Typically 8–10 years of progressive experience in performance management, talent management, HR strategy, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise‑wide performance programs.
  • Strong ability to translate strategy into scalable processes and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven people‑leadership and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data to drive decisions and improvements.
  • Excellent communication and change‑management skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as MedTech, Pharma, or Healthcare.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Exposure to talent, rewards, or succession‑planning integration with performance frameworks.
  • Experience leading transformation or large‑scale HR initiatives.
Other
  • Language: English proficiency required.
  • Travel: Up to 20%, primarily domestic with limited international travel.
  • Certifications: HR, talent management, or organizational development certifications preferred but not required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

122,000.00 - 245,000.00 USD Annual

Additional Description For Pay Transparency

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
  • Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
  • Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
  • Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
  • Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
  • Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
