Your Impact

The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Community Impact will develop and oversee the execution of external communications strategy to earn quality, third-party credibility that shapes Lowe’s reputation and perception. This includes driving earned media to highlight Lowe's impact across community investment, disaster response, sustainability, military support, volunteerism and strategic partnerships.

Reporting to the Senior Director of External Communications, this leader will manage one direct report, oversee agency partners and collaborate across the enterprise to identify, develop and elevate compelling stories that reinforce “There’s No Place Like Lowe’s” while advancing business and reputation objectives.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and execute comprehensive external communications strategy that elevates Lowe's reputation by showcasing the company's positive impact on communities nationwide.
  • Lead earned media strategy for Lowe's community impact, including grants, community projects, volunteer engagement, disaster response, sustainability initiatives, military support and strategic nonprofit partnerships.
  • Create proactive storytelling opportunities that strengthen brand perception through credible third-party credibility and quality earned media.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and proactive ideation to uncover high-impact communications opportunities from across the enterprise.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with national nonprofit organizations, internal business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure communications strategies support enterprise priorities and business goals.
  • Develop integrated communications plans, messaging, media materials and executive counsel for culturally relevant moments, key initiatives, partnerships and announcements.
  • Manage agency teams to deliver results through creative, quality earned media that reinforce consistent narrative of how Lowe’s helps.
  • Lead communications planning and activation for disaster response efforts, ensuring timely, coordinated storytelling that reflects Lowe's commitment to supporting communities when they need it most.
  • Identify emerging trends, cultural moments and real-time opportunities that advance Lowe's reputation and position the company as a trusted corporate leader.
  • Monitor external landscape, anticipate and mitigate reputational risk by advising on community impact and sustainability initiatives.
  • Define success metrics and leverage insights to demonstrate the impact of communications on reputation, trust, stakeholder perception and business objectives.
  • Manage, coach and develop one communications team member while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations or earned media, preferably within a Fortune 500 company or agency environment.
  • Proven experience developing integrated communications strategies that strengthen corporate reputation and drive earned media results.
  • Experience leading communications for community impact, corporate citizenship, nonprofit partnerships, sustainability, philanthropy or related initiatives.
  • Strong media relations expertise with a track record of securing impactful national, regional and local coverage.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, storytelling and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions and build trusted relationships with senior leaders, external partners and agencies.
  • Experience managing agency partners and developing high-performing talent.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities and responding effectively during high-profile or time-sensitive events, including disaster response.
