Job summary

Amazon Leo Payload Processing Quality is building a scalable aerospace quality system to meet launch-ready production needs. You will own quality system development and define requirements, processes, and methods used across the business.

The role leads quality management activities for assembly and test methods, participates in MRB decisions, and drives root-cause actions before satellites are loaded. Collaboration with Receiving Inspection, Supplier Quality, and Engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedure.
• 5+ year experience in leading the APQP (PFMEA, CP, PFD, SPC, MSA).

Responsibilities

• Optical Inter-Satellite Link design and development for upcoming changes; drive DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan and Process flow.
• Lead complex optical assembly test failure investigations with design and manufacturing teams.
• Identify critical optical test parameters and use SPC to understand product and process variations.
• Develop and lead quality management activities including process definition and validation for assembly and test methods, qualification, inspection plans, and monitoring capabilities.
• Lead Material Review Board discussions in the Finished Satellite Payload Processing facility for nonconforming material.
• Drive development and deployment of Quality Management System aspects across Amazon Leo.
• Perform root-cause corrective action activities for production processes before satellite launch.
• Collaborate with Receiving Inspection, Supplier Quality, and Engineering to qualify inspection, monitoring, and verification methods for the Production System.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in launch vehicle payload processing quality assurance.

The Amazon Leo Payload Processing Quality team is driven to develop a Amazon Leo Quality System that is capable of scaling aerospace quality to volume and cost levels to meet end customer needs. Key job responsibilities

Export Control Requirement

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

• 5+ year experience in leading the APQP (PFMEA, CP, PFD, SPC, MSA)

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or Master's degree in electrical engineering or Optical Engineering


• 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience


• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
