Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. is seeking a Senior MES Functional Analyst to lead the design, deployment, and support of Manufacturing Execution Systems across the company’s manufacturing operations.

You will serve as a liaison between business units, functional groups, and IT, ensuring adherence to the QMS and regulatory requirements while driving MES adoption and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in MES or related field.
• Experience deploying Camstar MES systems.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize MES modules and business process modeling to support eDHR rollout.
• Architect and implement MES solutions to improve process efficiency.
• Advise business units on best practices and system improvements.
• Train users and perform knowledge transfer to leverage MES systems.
• Gather and document business requirements, formulate use cases and participate in design details.
• Interface with other systems and develop MES transactions and screens.
• Participate in future MES projects: requirements gathering, data mapping, specs, and deployments.
• Define and manage scope, strategy, user stories and measures of success.
• Support MES integrations with PLM, QMS, ERP, etc.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities with end users.

Job description

The Senior MES Functional Analyst will participate in implementing, supporting, and enhancing technology projects specifically related to Penumbra’s Manufacturing Execution Systems. The role will serve as a liaison between business process owners in Business Units, Functional Groups, and IT.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize expertise in MES modules, such as business process modeling, to help the company roll out an eDHR solution.
• Participate in architecting and implementing solutions that improve business process efficiency and accuracy for MES solution.
• Apply domain expertise to advise the business units on best practices, processes, and system improvements to drive the full adoption of MES solutions.
• Empower users and super-users by training and performing knowledge transfer to leverage IT systems for the business process automation and optimization.
• Gather and document business requirements, formulate use cases and participate in solution design activities.
• Interface with other systems and technical development of MES transactions and screens.
• Participate in future MES projects by performing the following activities: gathering requirements, data mapping, documenting specifications, and design details, and deploying enhancements.
• Define and manage the scope, strategy, user stories and measures of success.
• Support future MES integrations with PLM, QMS, ERP applications etc.
• Partner with end users and process owners to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company.
• Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications - Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience deploying Camstar MES systems
• Solid experience with developing and maintaining business and technical documentation related to MES software
• Strong attention to detail, individual initiative, and organization skills
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously

Position Qualifications - Preferred

• MES/MESA certification preferred
• Hands-on manufacturing shop floor management and distribution operations experience strongly preferred
• Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industry experience desired
• Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills desired

Working Conditions

• Requires some lifting and moving of up to 5 pounds
• Must be able to move between buildings and floors.
• Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day.
• Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets.
• Must be able to move within the office and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed.
• Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.

Annual Base Salary Range:

$142,000 - $200,000/ year

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
