Job summary

LifeBridge Health is seeking a Medical Physicist in the Carroll Hospital radiation oncology department to ensure the accuracy, precision, and reproducibility of prescribed radiation treatments. The role includes equipment compliance testing, pretreatment dosimetry calculations, and supporting radiation safety programs under supervision.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in physical sciences or radiologic physics, 5–7 years of experience, and Therapeutic Medical Physics licensure; Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physical sciences or radiologic physics is required.
• Ph.D. is preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in medical physics or radiologic dosimetry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy, precision and reproducibility of medically prescribed radiation treatments by performing equipment compliance and acceptance testing.
• Calculate pretreatment radiation dosimetry to support safe and effective treatments.

Assists in the management of radiation safety practices in the radiation oncology department, and provides hospital radiation safety services in the radiation safety officer's absence. Assists the chief medical physicist in directing the workload of the medical physics and dosimetry team.
