The University of Miami is seeking a Senior Medical Collector to join the UHealth Central business Office in Miami, FL. This full-time role applies collection practices to ensure accurate patient information and timely funding source billing and collection, working with patients, insurers, and physician offices to maximize reimbursements.

You will manage accounts receivable in assigned areas, prepare reports with recommended actions, respond to inquiries, and verify demographic and insurance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Contacts payers and patients to collect on outstanding accounts and tracks calls.
• Identifies patterns of patient and insurance concerns and reports to supervising staff.
• Handles patient questions and documents them appropriately.
• Prepares reports on items assigned and recommends plans of action.
• Responds to over-the-phone and in-person inquiries from patients and insurance carriers.
• Coordinates the resolution of patient accounts and verifies demographic and insurance information.
• Works on accounts receivable in assigned areas to maximize reimbursement.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and safeguards University assets.

The University of Miami/UHealth Central business Office has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Medical Collector to work in Miami, FL. The Senior Medical Collector applies collection practices knowledge to ensure that patient demographic information is accurate and that proper funding source is billed and collected upon in a timely manner. The Senior Medical Collector works with patients, insurances, and physician offices to solve any issues and maximize reimbursements.
