Position: Full-Time Senior Medical Biller

The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office has exciting remote opportunities for a Senior Medical Biller. The role involves processing billing information, maintaining data quality, and supporting supervision in identifying and resolving issues.

Core Qualifications

1. Assist management with training new staff.
2. Run weekly reports on accounts to monitor and minimize contents.
3. Verify all claims and ensure timely collection and release of edits.
4. Report billing area edits to management monthly.
5. Ensure controls are followed to prevent missed charges.
6. Follow payment reconciliation processes at clinics.
7. Enter charges promptly.
8. Review encounters for completeness.
9. Coordinate correction of vouchers and reconcile daily voucher reports.
10. Adhere to university policies and safeguard assets.

Department Specific Functions

1. Review and release physician charges from assigned WQ’s timely.
2. Review encounter data: demographics, insurance, referrals, claims, authorizations.
3. Run insurance eligibility checks and resolve registration issues.
4. Manually enter missing paper vouchers.
5. Correct erroneous or rejected charges.
6. Distribute credits from payments.
7. Assign charges to cases and phases.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. At least 3 years relevant experience.
3. Knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
4. Attention to detail in completing assignments.
5. Discretion in handling confidential information.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
7. Effective oral and written communication skills.
