Position Overview

The Sr Medical Assistant at Children's National Pediatricians & Associates performs moderately complex patient care and administrative duties to support providers, patients, and staff. Responsibilities include assisting in primary health care delivery, managing patient referrals, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program.
2. Minimum Work Experience: At least 3 years of medical office experience, preferably in a pediatric setting.
3. Skills and Knowledge: Basic math, medical procedures, medical equipment, medical terminology, computer skills, insurance verification, patient flow, communication, customer service, staff training, electronic medical records.
4. Licenses and Certifications: Certification as a Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying body (preferred).

Patient Care

• Prepare patients for exams, assist with procedures, and monitor vital signs.
• Administer vaccines and medications as prescribed.
