Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Patriot PAC-2 Canister Engineer for the Alliance Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department. This role is remote with travel. The ADGE Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform systems, including missile hardware, shelter systems, hardware integration, cable and interconnections, as well as facility development and site integration. The department focuses on hardware design, integration, and production support across a broad range of technical disciplines.

This position is for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer – Patriot PAC-2 Canister Engineer responsible for the Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T Missile Canister Assembly & Test.

This is a remote role that includes travel. Willingness to travel frequently to the current Canister supplier in West Plains, MO and to a future supplier Zahid in Jeddah, KSA.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as one of the primary Raytheon engineering representatives to Patriot PAC-2 Missile Canister sites, working occasionally embedded on-site
  • Act as Hands On "Working Lead" while on-site
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges
  • Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals
  • Support and participate in resolving issues and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions
  • Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Creative problem solver with experience in supplier development
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Experience in supplier support
  • Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications
  • Experience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in International supplier support or development
  • Experience with the Patriot PAC-2 Canister design
  • Advanced degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or hardware systems design
  • Experience with PDM or similar product data management tool
  • Familiarity with Configuration and Data Management

Salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. This range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including the role, function and responsibilities, candidate experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
