Job summary

Rivian in California is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support electrical integration for its electric vehicles, focusing on integrating PCBs and press-fit components into actuation systems and validating robust designs.

You will create 3D models and engineering drawings, develop and execute DVP&R and DFMEAs, lead prototyping and design iteration, and coordinate validation with Tier 1/2 suppliers while collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience (or 1+ year with a Master’s).
• Experience with mechanical and thermal PCB integration and PCB/IC failure modes.
• Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD, CATIA V5/V6 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Familiarity with PLM systems, BOM structures, engineering changes, and deviation processes.
• Strong first-principles approach to problem solving.

Compensation and Benefits

California salary range: $107,800–$134,800, with actual compensation based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
