Job summary

Applicantz, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for 100% onsite work in Fremont, CA. You will design and validate cutting‑edge mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems, leading feasibility studies, CAD modeling, testing, and detailed design for packaging and manufacturing.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare technical reports and presentations, and ensure compliance with SEMI and GD&T standards while collaborating with suppliers to optimize cost and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Highly proficient in 3D CAD, Siemens NX, and GD&T practices.
• Experience with vacuum system design and RF high voltage.
• In-depth understanding of heat transfer.
• Experience conducting RCCA, FMEA, and technical brainstorming sessions.
• Hands-on experimental and design background with strong engineering skills.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems from concept to productization, including concept, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation.
• Design components using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings.
• Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI standards and GD&T guidelines.
• Conduct structural, thermal, heat transfer, stress, vibration, fluid and gas flow analyses to specify designs.
• Develop feasibility studies and test plans to characterize design performance.
• Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations communicating design intent and validation results.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability, cost optimization, and conformance to requirements.
• Provide deliverables including FMEA, technical specifications, risk analysis, test specs, and design review presentations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What you’ll do

• Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization including conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation.
• Designs components using variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings.
• Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, standards, and industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Conduct detailed analysis including structural, thermal, heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid and gas flow, and manufacturability to properly specify designs.
• Develop and conduct feasibility studies and test plans to characterize and validate design performance.
• Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, cost-optimized, and to requirements.
• Provide key deliverables including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, and design review presentations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
• Highly proficient in 3D CAD, Siemens Nx.
• Experience with vacuum system design and RF high voltage
• In-depth understanding of heat transfer
• Experience conducting RCCA, FMEA, and technical brainstorming sessions
• Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus.
• Experience in leading projects, or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities.
