We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply‑chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaborate across AWS to deliver high‑standards for safety and security while keeping capacity at low cost for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate mechanical system space requirements, supporting utilities, and equipment locations, and provide detailed construction specifications for all mechanical trades.
  • Prepare detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems, reviewing design disciplines for code compliance.
  • Act as subject‑matter expert, ensuring contractors and operations teams have the information needed to build, operate, and maintain data centers.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders, including design, construction, commissioning, operations, vendors, local building and fire officials.
  • Drive improvement of design standards and project approaches across the organization.
  • Review designs in progress to meet design standards, local code requirements, and authorities‑having‑jurisdiction obligations.
  • Provide mechanical engineering advice on global projects and support local engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk‑management teams to respond to RFI and value‑engineering queries.
  • Must be responsible for construction documents, code compliance, design and installation standards, water‑supply evaluation, testing, inspections, and submittal review.
  • Must travel up to 25% of the time.
Mandatory Must Mandatories

  • 10+ years of experience in design engineering or the construction industry, related to mechanical systems (hydronics, air‑side duct design, plumbing).
  • Experience applying local code requirements, International Code Council requirements, and mechanical industry standards.
  • Experience with design review, specification, design‑standards development, and submittal review.
  • Must understand construction documents for all trades.
  • Must hold United States citizenship.
Preferred Mandatory Mandatories
  • Experience authoring white papers, technical documentation, and training materials.
