Immediate Opening: Sr. Mechanical Machine Designer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Machine Designer for the development of various automated equipment and material handling systems. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in designing custom machinery and automated systems using 3D Solid modeling software, specifically SOLIDWORKS.

The candidate should be proficient in detailing and checking drawings, developing machine layouts, and reading blueprints. Knowledge of GD&T tolerance specifications and experience with electro-mechanical components, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic components, are required.

Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members. The designer will collaborate with Sales and Estimating departments to develop concept designs and plant layout drawings for RFQ proposals and sales presentations.

Strong analytical skills in equipment design and creative problem-solving abilities are necessary. The candidate must be capable of multi-tasking, working under pressure to meet project deadlines and budgets, and maintaining customer commitments.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with AUTOCAD and project management (a plus)
2. Knowledge of electro-mechanical components and calculations (e.g., servo-drives, VFDs, LVDT systems)
3. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and calculations (e.g., cylinders, valves)
4. Experience with robotics and vision systems applications
5. Familiarity with system controls such as PLCs, HMI panels, switches, and safety systems
