Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience in supply planning, material planning, purchasing, production planning, inventory control, or a comparable supply chain function.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, including MM and WM modules; experience supporting an SAP implementation, enhancement, or process improvement is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MRP, purchasing, production planning, inventory management, material allocation, and distribution principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, assess trade-offs, solve problems, and make sound decisions with limited direction.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute short- and mid-range supply plans that align production schedules, customer demand, material availability, capacity constraints, service targets, and inventory objectives.
  • Analyze MRP outputs, forecasts, inventory positions, lead times, safety stock parameters, open orders, and supplier performance to determine appropriate order quantities, timing, priorities, and corrective actions.
  • Exercise independent judgment in procurement and material allocation decisions for assigned categories, balancing service, cost, working capital, shelf life, and operational risk.
  • Serve as the primary supply chain liaison for assigned production units and suppliers, maintaining proactive communication to confirm supply, expedite critical materials, resolve constraints, and respond to changing business priorities.
  • Monitor supplier delivery, responsiveness, quality, and capacity performance; lead issue resolution and coordinate recovery plans with Procurement, Quality, Operations, and other partners.
  • Identify material, supplier, capacity, quality, and inventory risks before they affect production or customer commitments; develop scenarios, contingency plans, and decision-ready recommendations for leadership.
  • Optimize inventory investment while maintaining required service levels by managing safety stocks, order policies, inventory positioning, and excess, obsolete, aging, or at-risk materials.
  • Maintain accurate material master data, inventory balances, purchase requisitions, purchase order changes, and related planning transactions in SAP, including MM and WM activities.

Job Summary The Senior Materials Planner independently leads material and supply planning for assigned product lines, supplier categories, or production units to ensure uninterrupted material availability, reliable production execution, and achievement of customer service and inventory objectives. This role translates demand, production schedules, and material requirements planning outputs into executable supply plans; serves as the primary supply chain contact for assigned suppliers and internal stakeholders; and makes informed decisions regarding procurement, inventory positioning, material allocation, and recovery priorities. The Senior Materials Planner anticipates supply, capacity, quality, and inventory risks; develops scenarios and mitigation strategies; and provides clear recommendations to business leaders. Working in an SAP environment and within applicable GMP requirements, the position also drives planning discipline, data accuracy, supplier performance, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.   • Assign raw material lots to production using First In, First Out (FIFO) principles and ensure SAP transactions and inventory records reconcile with master batch records.
  • Coordinate material quality issue resolution, regulatory revisions, new‑part introductions, phase‑ins, phase‑outs, and disposition of obsolete materials in accordance with the approved Document Change Control process and GMP requirements.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Production, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Warehouse, Finance, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to align material strategies with business priorities.
  • Develop and communicate supply chain metrics, risk visibility, root‑cause analyses, and recommendations related to service, inventory, supplier performance, schedule attainment, and planning effectiveness.
  • Lead or support continuous‑improvement initiatives that strengthen planning processes, SAP data quality, supplier performance, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide functional guidance, coaching, and planning expertise to less‑experienced team members; act as a resource and backup across the planning team.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable GMP requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, company policies, and supply chain procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. All employees are responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities.
Requirements
