Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the Sr Material Handler job is to be responsible for all activities related to the dispensing of raw materials per specifications. The job requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to ensure the quality and quantity of the product produced.

Shift & Pay

Shift: Day Shift, 7am-7pm

Pay: $22/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently and collaboratively dispense raw materials according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production processes.
  • Verify labels against batch records to guarantee proper material identification and traceability.
  • Accurately document the dispensing process in alignment with formulas and SOPs to maintain reliable records.
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload raw materials.
  • Monitor the assigned area for correct conditions and report any damage or inconsistent materials to the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with necessary procedures and accurate scaling, measuring, and sampling.
  • Assist with overflow jobs in the operations department when needed.
  • Understand inventory requirements and adjustments.
  • Provide mentorship and assistance to peers as needed, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Takes initiative in problem‑solving and decision‑making, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary to ensure operational success.
  • Perform data entry tasks using paper records, electronic devices, PC hardware/software, iPads, etc.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure a clean, organized work environment while maintaining consistent attendance.
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) meeting required manufacturing standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in a prior factory environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Proficiency with digital devices such as computers and iPads.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures inclusive of Nestlé’s Life Saving Rules.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs., stand, climb, bend, etc. within a manufacturing environment.
Required and Preferred Skills
  • Skilled at organizing tasks and supporting team efforts to meet objectives.
  • Proficient in conveying instructions and providing clear guidance to team members.
  • Understanding of material handling and manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, fostering cross‑functional engagement to meet expectations effectively.
Additional Notes
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish.
