Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX seeks a Senior Material and Process Engineer to join the Material and Process (M&P) team supporting multiple product lines in North Texas. The engineer will create and manage material specifications, control material data in cPDM, and collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and programs to resolve producibility challenges.

Responsibilities include material management, specification creation, and cross-functional problem solving. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or equivalent in engineering or related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience interpreting technical datasheets and standards (Mil-Std and ASTM).
  • U.S. citizenship is required to access information.
  • Strong technical writing skills are essential.
  • Deep knowledge of material characteristics, applications, selection, and design considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material and product data in Common Product Data Management (cPDM).
  • Identify, evaluate and implement material and process improvements to meet new product requirements.
  • Create and maintain material and process specifications.
  • Support rapid-response efforts to manufacturing process interruptions related to M&P specifications.

We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Material and Process Engineer to join our Material and Process (M&P) team supporting varieties of product lines in North Texas Region. The engineer will be primarily responsible for material and process specification creations, material gear part creations, material managements, packaging and handling code specification, and incoming shelf-life-controlled material verifications. The engineer will work with a cross functional team including manufacture engineers, supply chains, operation value stream, and program authority to resolve pressing technical design and producibility issues.

The Material and Process Engineering team within McKinney, TX drives business success by providing engineering expertise to solve today’s problems in multiple domains. The material engineering discipline serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the material characteristic in terms of hardware compatibility, operation endurance, manufacture environment adaptability and many aspects of producibility incorporation.

What You Will Do:
  • Responsible for material management in Common Product Data Management (cPDM), this includes gear part and material drawing maintenance, and all aspects of sustainment activities.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend material & process improvements to meet new product requirements.
  • Responsible for material and process specification creation and maintenance
  • Be a part of rapid response team that address factory manufacture process interruption due to M&P specification issue

Qualifications You Must Have
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with interpreting technical datasheets, Mil-Standard and ASTM
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access required information
  • High level of professional technical writing skills
  • In-depth knowledge in material characteristics, material application, material selection and material design selection.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
