Job Description Summary

Senior Laser Manufacturing Engineer responsible for developing both long-term manufacturing strategy and individual manufacturing processes. Experience in hole making and ablation technologies preferred.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple pieces of equipment within the facility to enable delivery of development/prototype hardware and low-rate production hardware.
  2. Understand programming and operate CNC equipment; experience with GF and Prima Power/Laserdyne preferred.
  3. Extensive knowledge of laser processing, especially in cutting and hole making.
  4. Coordinate with Environmental Health and Safety representatives to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with regulations.
  5. Monitor lab facilities daily to maintain efficient operations; collaborate with GE Facilities, Union personnel, and contractors for maintenance and improvements.
  6. Lead initiatives on process improvements and 5S activities.
  7. Participate in team meetings on operations, quality, and EHS topics.
  8. Mentor and coach less experienced engineers; develop and document process improvements.
  9. Develop and follow technical plans to meet manufacturing goals.
  10. Ensure quality system requirements are met for aerospace applications.
  11. Adhere to project schedules for complex engineering and manufacturing work.
  12. Lead teams on organizational initiatives.
  13. Promote open communication and an inclusive work environment.
  14. Ensure proper documentation of technical data per policies.
  15. Maintain compliance with GE policies, including safety, environmental, and operational practices.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
