About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of scientific instruments. This role is critical to ensuring efficient, high-quality assembly processes and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You will lead complex engineering projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

What you will bring to the role:

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in scientific or precision instrumentation
  • Expertise in mechanical and/or electrical systems design for new products
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production optimization
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, especially SolidWorks
  • Working knowledge and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience communicating with vendors and suppliers to resolve part discrepancies and implement design adjustments
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex instrument assembly and performance issues
  • Experience managing complex engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and task delegation
  • Ability to analyze production performance metrics and implement process improvements
  • Hands-on experience with machining, tools, repairs, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
  • Ability to lead pre-production efforts and ensure smooth transitions from prototype to production
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with R&D, quality, purchasing, and production teams
  • Comfortable working in and around production cells, including lifting and using hand/power tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s degree a plus)
