Qualifications

• Develops strategic direction for present and future IT services.
• Participates in strategic planning with IT senior management and with business leaders.
• Plans and manages complex and strategic enterprise-wide projects.
• Responsible for ensuring that availability SLAs are met, failed customer interactions are minimized, and technology currency is maintained for supported systems.
• Oversees planning, scheduling, assignment and monitoring of staff and resources for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Develops and maintains processes to ensure ongoing support for responsible systems.
• Maintains fiscal accountability and is responsible for financial budgets.
• Maintains a high level of technical expertise related to assigned departmental functions and stays current in technical enhancements, methodologies and trends that particularly apply to Huntington.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

This role will be onsite at our Easton Oval office in Columbus, OH. The Sr Manager - Virtualization Engineering will manage the activities of IT Operations and Infrastructure Services teams through staff and/or subordinate managers and supervisors. This individual will be responsible for VMWare cloud foundation and virtual desktop infrastructure as well as automation engineering for virtualization platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops strategic direction for present and future IT services.
• Participates in strategic planning with IT senior management and with business leaders.
• Plans and manages complex and strategic enterprise-wide projects.
• Responsible for ensuring that availability SLAs are met, failed customer interactions (FCIs) are minimized, and technology currency is maintained for supported systems.
• Oversees the planning, scheduling, assignment and monitoring of staff and resources for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Develops and maintains processes to ensure ongoing support for responsible systems.
• Maintains fiscal accountability and is responsible for financial budgets.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of experience in IT infrastructure
• 10+ years of related experience in client and server infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical competence and ability to stay current with changing industry trends.
• Demonstrated use of standards, policies, and best practices within the server and desktop virtualization.
• Strong vendor management including vendor negotiation skills.
• Experience with deployment and system build automation.
• Ability to initiate new efforts through requirements gathering and drive the team to completion.
• Ability and drive to implement continuous process improvements.
• Strong Project Management experience.
• Results driven, ensuring short-term goals are achieved while supporting long-term initiatives with an appropriate sense of urgency.
• Strong technology skills with the ability to produce relevant information from teams and make critical decisions.
• Management and leadership skills to attract, retain, and motivate high talent professionals.
• Excellent ability to motivate and influence a cross functional team to perform above normal expectations.
• Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Experience in the financial industry desirable.
• Experience with the IT PMO and other technical and application teams on the estimation, budgeting, accounting and other requirements related to project delivery.
• Proven methodical approach to problem identification, problem solving and resolution using analytics and diagnostics in a timely manner.
• Strong technology skills with the ability to produce relevant information from teams and make critical decisions.
• Great Aptitude for technology and demonstrated independent knowledge.
