Job description

Overview

Our healthcare system is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. Every year, over 50 million Americans suffer adverse financial consequences as a result of seeking care, from lower credit scores to garnished wages. Cedar’s mission is to leverage data science, smart product design and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Today, healthcare providers still engage with its consumers in a one-size-fits-all approach; Cedar is excited to leverage consumer best practices to deliver a superior experience.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Values Analytics to lead the charge in quantifying and articulating the value our platform delivers across the healthcare revenue cycle. This is a critical leadership role that reports directly to the Director of Data Platforms and Analytics.

This isn’t your standard analytics role. You’ll be leading a high-impact team focused on creating value-based market differentiation by building and scaling how Cedar tells its story—backed by data, made compelling through insight, and impossible to ignore by clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and a passion for using data to measure and drive business impact. You will be responsible for defining the values analytics strategy, building a high-performing team, and delivering data-driven insights that inform our strategic decisions and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the values analytics roadmap, defining key metrics and reporting frameworks that measure the success and value of our products and services, particularly within the RCM domain.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of value analytics personnel, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and high performance. Advocate for analytical tools and process adoption as we build out more sophisticated products to service clients.
  • Advanced Analytics: Oversee the development of complex analytical models and analyses to identify trends, predict outcomes, and provide actionable insights into revenue cycle performance, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders across product, operations, and commercial strategy to understand business needs and translate them into analytical projects. Present findings in a clear, compelling manner that drives business decisions.
  • Data Governance & Platforms: Collaborate with Data Platform teams to ensure the integrity, accessibility, and reliability of data necessary for value analytics. Advocate for scalable analytics infrastructure.
  • Insight Narrative & Visualization: Create compelling narratives and visualizations that translate complex RCM data into persuasive, strategic stories for executives and partners to showcase the value Cedar delivers to our clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Healthcare Administration, Business, Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a people-management role, leading and developing a team of data professionals.
  • Strategic mindset paired with storytelling muscle—comfortable moving between technical depth and executive-level narrative
  • Ability to challenge status-quo thinking and bring structure to ambiguity—especially when navigating complex enterprise client relationships
  • Demonstrable background and deep expertise in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), with a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the healthcare billing and collections process.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable business insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice-to-have
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with statistical programming languages like R or Python.
  • Expertise with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for dashboard creation and data visualization.
Compensation Range and Benefits
  • Salary Range in CA, NY, NJ, CT, WA: $182,750 - $215,000
  • Salary NOT in CA, NY, NJ, CT, WA: $164,500 - $193,500
  • This role is equity eligible
  • This role offers a competitive benefits and wellness package

*Subject to location, experience, and education

What do we offer to the ideal candidate?
  • A chance to improve the U.S. healthcare system at a high-growth company! Our leading healthcare financial platform is scaling rapidly, helping millions of patients per year
  • Most roles have flexibility to work from home or in the office, depending on what works best for you
  • For exempt employees: Unlimited PTO for vacation, sick and mental health days—we encourage everyone to take at least 20 days of vacation per year to ensure dedicated time to spend with loved ones, explore, rest and recharge
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave with health benefits for all parents, plus flexible re-entry schedules for returning to work
  • Diversity initiatives that encourage Cedarians to bring their whole selves to work, including three employee resource groups: be@cedar (for BIPOC-identifying Cedarians and their allies), Pridecones (for LGBTQIA+ Cedarians and their allies) and Cedar Women+ (for female-identifying Cedarians)
  • Competitive pay, equity (for qualifying roles), and health benefits, including fertility & adoption assistance, that start on the first of the month following your start date (or on your start date if your start date coincides with the first of the month)
  • Cedar matches 100% of your 401(k) contributions, up to 3% of your annual compensation
  • Access to hands-on mentorship, employee and management coaching, and a team discretionary budget for learning and development resources to help you grow both professionally and personally
