Role

The Sr. Manager, Strategic Procurement is responsible for leading a team of six global category managers tasked with creating and executing category strategies that deliver against strategic procurement objectives to optimize quality, on-time delivery, risk, and total cost. This position reports to the Director, Global Procurement, is part of the Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Strategic Procurement Team and will work remotely to lead all strategic category management activities globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6 Global Category Managers with strategic procurement ownership for $700M in direct material spend spanning all major direct material categories
• Align stakeholders across global manufacturing sites to develop category strategies that deliver world-class supply chain performance
• Apply the Danaher Business System to drive measurable improvements in quality, supply chain sustainability, on time delivery, working capital and total cost
• Coach and apply advanced negotiation strategies to secure complex global supplier agreements, using cost modeling, supplier development, and long-term value creation techniques
• Lead supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, and strategic project execution using robust analytics, digital procurement tools, and project management principles
• Drive stakeholder engagement and change management across all organizational levels by integrating risk-based thinking, supplier innovation, and voice of customer into procurement strategies
• Serve as a member of the Leadership Team tasked with setting direction for the Global Manufacturing Strategic Procurement organization

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in supply chain, finance or engineering; Advanced degree or MBA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive strategic procurement experience preferably within global manufacturing, medical device or diagnostics industries
• 5+ years leading direct reports in a remote or hybrid environment
• Demonstrated experience leading change and aligning cross-functional stakeholders

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10 - 25%
