Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation's Financial Planning Group in Dallas is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to advise UHNW clients with comprehensive financial plans, estate considerations, and wealth transfer strategies.

You will leverage strong client management, multi-department collaboration, and advanced planning knowledge to deliver tailored advice. A CFP designation, strong sales skills, and active FINRA licenses are required, with a hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

  • Masters level or equivalent Financial Planning-related designation.
  • CFP designation required.
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 7 license (may be obtained within 120 days).
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 63/65 or 66 license (may be obtained within 120 days).
  • Insurance license - Life + Health (may be obtained within 120 days).
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience creating and presenting complex financial plans.
  • Strong sales skills to position financial planning services.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and plans to deliver timely final plans.
  • Expertise in moving UHNW clients through complete financial planning cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate referral relationships with internal Schwab departments to grow UHNW client base.
  • Interact directly with UHNW clients to deliver detailed, customized financial plans.
  • Coordinate with Branch network and UHNW teams to ensure timely plan delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing personal development and training to grow as an advisor.
  • Develop multigenerational planning and estate/legacy strategies for clients.

The Financial Planning Group is part of the broader Wealth and Advised Solutions organization and is primarily responsible for helping individuals and families with their financial needs. Whether it’s retirement planning, charitable giving, estate planning, active investing or managing banking and lending needs, Planning can help.The Financial Planning Group works with partners to provide comprehensive financial planning services for clients and prospects seeking advice on how to reach multiple goals. The plan includes a customized analysis to address financial goals, such as: retirement, college, risk management, asset allocation, and estate planning needs. After setting realistic expectations with the client or prospect, the Schwab Financial Planner prepares and presents a financial plan which identify a client’s current situation, opportunities and gaps, and advise on specific steps to meet financial goals.

The Financial Planner is responsible for strengthening the relationship between Schwab and clients who have the need for advice on complex and ultra-high net worth financial situations. The financial planning process includes cultivating referral relationships with internal partners, supporting client relationships based on the needs of clients and partners, and working directly with clients to assess and advise on complex financial planning topics. Candidates should have a strong background in client and practice management, presentation and communication skills, and expertise in the area of Financial Planning for the UHNW client segment.

What you have
  • Masters level or equivalent Financial Planning-related designation
  • CFP® designation required
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 7 license required (may be obtained within the first 120 days condition of employment)
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 63/65 or 66 license required (may be obtained with 120 days condition of employment)
  • Insurance license - Life + Health (may be obtained with 120 days condition of employment)
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experiencewith creating and presenting complex/comprehensive financial plans
  • In-depth knowledge and demonstrated sales skills to position financial planning services
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and financial plans to ensure that an accurate final plan is delivered to each client/prospect in a timely manner.
  • Extensive knowledge and mastery of moving ultra-high net worth clients through complete and complex financial planning cycle
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external partners to address clients/prospects financialneeds and goals.
  • Act as a strategic partner, cultivating and nurturing relationships with ultra-high net worth clients and collaborating with business partners to ensure their financial success.
  • Conduct multigenerational financial planning, ensuring the seamless transfer of wealth across generations and securing the long-term financial legacies of clients and their families
  • Facilitate legacy planning, incorporating charitable giving, philanthropy, business and financial asset transfer, and estate planning to ensure a seamless transition and preservation of clients’ wealth and values
  • Strong command of complex Wealth Management Topics including Estate Planning, Alternative Investments/Private Equity, Equity Compensation, Tax Planning, and Liquidity Planning

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
