• Lead enterprise-wide identity & access management, accounting & finance systems, financial reporting, tax technology, facilities tech, data center security services for Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS).
• Own technology powering Workday FinOps, supplier procurement, sales audit, vendor rebates, and invoice automation for a 22B+ business.
• Guide cross-domain programs across VP organizations, including experimentation, scaling and systems convergence.
• Drive GenAI strategy for the portfolio: AI-powered invoice extraction, contract analysis, vendor analytics, automated narratives, anomaly detection, AI-driven validation, and adaptive workflows.
• Converge and scale by partnering across Amazon teams to consolidate non-differentiating capabilities while preserving grocery-specific functionality.

Grocery Technology Shared Services (GTSS) is responsible for the foundational technology that keeps Amazon's grocery ecosystem running and supporting: identity & access services, grocery accounting, and supply chain integrations supporting Whole Foods Market and the broader grocery network. We are at an inflection point - converging legacy systems with Amazon-scale platforms, deploying Generative AI to reimagine operational workflows, and building the connective tissue between grocery store operations and Amazon's core capabilities.

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Manager to lead our Cross-Cutting Technology organization, a team of 66+ engineers, TPMs, and technologists responsible for enterprise-wide services spanning identity management, security, facilities technology, and data center operations. You'll own the strategy, execution, and people development for a portfolio that directly impacts 100K+ Whole Foods associates and the systems that process billions in supplier payments, revenue attribution, and workforce management.

This isn't a 'keep the lights on' role. You will drive the modernization of critical platforms, pioneer GenAI applications in finance and identity management, and make the architectural decisions that determine how Amazon's grocery business scales.

Key job responsibilities

Technology Leadership across the following Charters:

• Cross-Cutting Technology: Lead enterprise-wide identity & access management, accounting & finance systems, financial reporting, tax technology, facilities & real estate tech, legal technology solutions, data center migrations, and security services for Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS).
• Supply Chain Technology: Own the technology powering Workday FinOps, supplier procurement, sales audit, vendor rebate processing, and invoice automation in support of a 22B+ business.
• Strategic Programs: Guide cross-domain programs' delivery spanning multiple VP organizations, including experimentation, scaling (new store openings, regional expansion), and systems convergence and deprecation to drive architectural improvements and tech stack efficiency.
• Generative AI & Automation: You will drive the GenAI strategy for your portfolio, with immediate opportunities in:
  • AI-powered invoice extraction, contract analysis, and vendor performance analytics
  • Automated financial narratives, budget commentary, and anomaly detection
  • Intelligent chatbots and self-service capabilities for identity & access management
  • Automated SOX control testing, audit documentation, and compliance monitoring
  • Smart request routing and bulk provisioning with AI-driven validation
• Convergence & Scale: You will partner across Amazon teams to consolidate non-differentiating capabilities while preserving grocery-specific functionality, and lead the integrations between Amazon core platforms and grocery operations through critical Grocery initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
