Job summary

Charles Schwab in Austin is seeking a senior software engineer to build enterprise applications that support financial planning. You will modernize a variety of web services, collaborate with business partners to identify needs, and apply open source and emerging technologies to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in CS, CE, or related field.
  • 96 months of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience.
  • Design and code large-scale distributed systems with RESTful APIs in .NET/.NET Core/Web API.
  • Build asynchronous messaging with RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Relational DBs: SQL Server or Oracle; ORM: Entity Framework.
  • TDD with Selenium, Moq; performance testing with JMeter.
  • CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
  • Cloud platforms: PCF, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Monitoring with Splunk.

Responsibilities

  • Build enterprise applications that support financial planning activities.

Seek out and advocate for the use of new and emerging technologies, including open source tools. Perform and support regular production releases. Triage and fix production bugs.

What you have

Job Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 96 months of progressive, post-Bachelor’s experience in a related occupation. . Experience must include 96 months of experience involving the following: Designing and coding large-scale enterprise distributed systems following RESTful API design using .NET, .NET Core, or Web API; Building asynchronous messaging systems with RabbitMQ message broker or Kafka; Relational databases - SQL Server or Oracle and ORMs including Entity framework; Test-driven development using test frameworks/tools - Selenium, Moq, Performance testing tools including JMeter; Continuous integration and continuous deployment tools including GitHub actions or Jenkins or bamboo; On-premises or public cloud platforms including Pivotal Cloud Foundry or Microsoft Azure or AWS or GCP; and Monitoring/alerting tools including Splunk.
