The Service Engineering group supports supervisors engaged in our Maintenance line of business, as well as indirect support of the service mechanics across the US and Canada, with the objective of continually improving quality, efficiency, and productivity while ensuring world-class safety and compliance.

On a typical day you will:
  • Oversee all aspects of vertical transportation system inspections, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role will support the operating territories develop inspection schedules, coordinate with third-party inspectors and service providers, maintain documentation, and ensures timely resolution of non-compliance issues to guarantee safe and reliable equipment operation. This includes analyzing performance metrics to drive improved efficiency and employing tools to enhance the Inspection and Compliance process.
  • Inspection oversight responsibilities will include development and management of a comprehensive inspection management system and process for all units within the portfolio as we ensure all elevators meet applicable safety codes and standards
  • Compliance management leadership will include supporting the operating territories in maintaining accurate records of inspections, certifications, and corrective actions. This includes collaboration with codes and standards colleagues as we monitor changes in elevator safety regulations and ensure organizational compliance. The candidate will generate regular compliance reports for senior leadership and develop a centralized database of inspection history and compliance status.
  • In addition, the Inspection and Compliance SQE will work alongside the other SQE team on numerous other projects, priorities and objectives in the US and Canada.
  • This position is remote and requires 30-50% travel.
What you will need to be successful:
  • BA or BS degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong champion of Otis Absolutes of Safety, Ethics and Quality
  • Ability to provide training to individuals as well as larger groups.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets, QlikSense, and SalesForce
