Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior Manager for the Delivery Data Science team to guide a talented group of scientists. You will define the technical vision, roadmap, and prioritize high-impact ML initiatives across marketplace design and pricing algorithms.

You will mentor senior ICs and people managers, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Ops, and Design to move strategic initiatives forward. You will establish robust data foundations, instrumentation, and observability for evolving product areas

Qualifications

• Ph.D., MS, or Bachelor's degree in Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields.
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience as a Scientist or equivalent (8+ years with a Ph.D.).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in people management, with a proven track record of managing managers and senior individual contributors.
• Proven leadership in influencing long-term strategy and technical direction, identifying high-leverage initiatives that span multiple organizations.
• Advanced expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and machine learning model development within production environments.

About the Role

The Delivery team is in charge of the Eater and Merchant experience for UberEats - with the goal of guiding strategy, defining metrics and optimizing the experience for the product team. As a senior manager for the team, you'll be in charge of managing a team of talented Scientists to identify and drive high impact initiatives.

What you'll do

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to balance analytical rigor with sound business judgment and practical impact.• Excellent storyteller with the ability to translate deep technical subjects into narratives that influence non-technical executive audiences.• Track record of prioritizing and driving multiple complex work-streams forward simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.

For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $252,000 per year - USD $280,000 per year.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $252,000 per year - USD $280,000 per year.For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $252,000 per year - USD $280,000 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
