As Sr Manager - R&D, you will manage activities across a complex Infusion Platform(s) within our MMS R&D Global organization. As a key strategic and technical leader, you will lead multiple teams that drive business growth, primarily through sustaining products, while collaborating with peer leaders across the organization. Work will include managing on-market product activities that drive sustainable growth within the MMS Infusion business.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Technical leader for multiple complex medical device platforms and important sub-projects with responsibilities for large elements of the product development effort in the post-market environment.
• Lead technical team through high-quality CAPAs and represent R&D in audits.
• Lead engineering staffing across HW fields.
• Continuously improve the engineering organization by growing key skills within the team through hiring or training.
• Lead technical analysis of EOL replacements.
• Lead technical team through proactive analysis of legacy specifications and tool conditioning to enable production scale-up.
• Provide technical leadership to direct and indirect reports, with the ability to deep dive into technical issues.
• Implement best-in-class R&D tools, processes & standards within the development platform.
• Develop project plans and timelines for product delivery. Create Product Development goals linked with business priorities and traced to individual engineering responsibilities.
• Drive and lead innovative problem resolution at an accelerated pace.
• Support both organic and inorganic development opportunities.
• Work with Functional Leaders to assign engineering disciplines to achieve portfolio goals. Mentor, develop, and performance manage talent in post-market activities.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Systems, Physics, Electrical, Biomedical, or Software Engineering required. Master's or PhD preferred.
• At least 10 years of increasing responsibility in R&D technical engineering roles or a PhD with 3-5 years of industry experience, with extensive product development experience.
• Regulated industry experience (FDA, Automotive, Industrial, etc.).
• Familiarity with Mechatronics Analysis & Design.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in pre and post-market activities.
• Project management experience for complex systems.
• Experience with proven design processes (e.g., DFSS) over multiple programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to lead complex programs developed in partnership with matrixed organizations and external suppliers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience leading global teams is a plus.
• Ability to mentor and develop talent aligned with strategic plans.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong business acumen and customer focus.
• Willingness to travel up to 10-20% (domestic and international).
